Just my Banana!

That’s what I call my baby girl, Banana.  She adores the fruit and it rhymes with her name so it just works for me.  I joke that I’m going to go to the judge and have it officially changed or added.  Don’t worry, I know she’d hate me forever.  But while she’s still little, I’ll keep her as my little Banana.

What a week.  She faced her first stomach bug this week.  It is heart wrenching watching your baby be sick and feeling helpless to do anything about it.  Thankfully this was a short lived illness.  She was back to her old self by the end of the day.  It didn’t take long for it to spread to the rest of us.  I will spare you the details.

I’m still enjoying my new 60mm macro lens.  I break it out every chance I get.  The other night Banana was hanging out near our front door watching the world go by.  The light there is just exquisite and I couldn’t resist.  These are some of the photos I captured.  I’m glad I got them while I could because just a few minutes later she tripped and fell and wonked her head.  The bruise was something to behold and will be there fora  few days.  That’s a day in the life of a new walking toddler.  I’ll have to snag a few photos of that too, after all it is who she is right now and the bruises are a part of her story.

Happy Thursday! I hope you all are well.  I am thankful we all seem to be on the mend.

  1. Awww! Poor thing! Glad everyone is feeling better. My older daughter got sick on Wednesday. Her camp went on a trip to see The Lion King on b’way and on the bus ride home she threw up. Luckily she has great counselors that took care of her. Normally I go on all field trips but this time wasn’t able to. Felt so bad!!

    Your photos look great!

I have a 50mm macro but mostly use it for food shots for recipe posts on my blog.
