Something funky has been happening around my house lately. Something I thought I might never see. Something I fear might stop as fast as it started.
My boys are reading! Ok, they’ve had the ability to read for a while… especially Noah my older one. But they never CHOSE to read to themselves all on their own! I never knew why. They loved being read to… but to pick up a book just because… SHOCK! HORROR!
So imagine my confusion over the last few weeks when I’d come around the corner to find myself staring at the back of a book! Or, you know when the house gets too quiet so you know for sure the kids are up to no good, and you go hunting them down… I’m not finding horrible messes… I’m finding children ENGROSSED in BOOKS! Great, good old fashion BOOKS!
Who are these strangers and WHAT HAVE they done with MY children? Wait, maybe I like these kids more!
Everyone is getting into the act!
I blame it on Sonlight! Ever since we switched our homeschool curriculum our home is very different. It is peaceful and happy. The stress is gone. And my children are engaged! They are READING! What more can a book loving momma ask for!
I just purchase my 1st year curriculum of sonlight for my daughter (5) and son (3)….so excited!!! Which package did you purchase and how old are you kiddos?
My guys are 6, 4, and almost 2 We are working through Core A (on week 8) and loving every minute! Good luck with your year!
This week we learned when to use ck or k at the end of a word. Who knew?!?
How exciting! We are going to start in the fall….since we are still working on finishing up this year!
What math did you go with?
We were already using Math U See before we jumped into Sonlight. It really works for us so we stuck with that. Love it!
