It’s the Small Moments I Want To Remember

I say it often… it’s really cliche, but oh so true. The moments are fleeting. I began my photography journey in order to capture the small fleeting moments that seem to slip by so quickly.

Things like my daughter’s crazy morning hair at the ripe old age of 2. The way my son curves his mouth when he is thinking hard. My child’s precious handwriting. I think I’ll remember all of this but I know I won’t.

Winter is a slower time for my business. It is when I hunker down and concentrate more on my family, my children, our homeschool. This winter I want to reach back to my photography roots.

I want to concentrate on what is called lifestyle photography.

Capturing life… in all it’s imperfection. Hopefully I’ll even manage to post my results around here about once a week. Maybe it’ll inspire you?

  1. I know what you mean! I like to capture those moments with my kids as well. My younger daughter always had this habit of holding her hair out of her face – rather than just putting a clip in it. All day long she’d walk around with that hair in her hand. It was her trademark. All of a sudden she stopped doing it. I can’t even tell you when it happened. I am so glad I have photos of her holding her hair – it is definitely something I will want to remember.

  2. Jubilee Reviews says:

Beautiful! I need to be better at taking pictures. I have wanted an upgraded camera for so long, but just have my little point and shoot. That shouldn’t be an excuse to not be taking some photos of the little things. Thanks so much for the reminder!

  3. I am far from a photographer, but I do try to capture those “moments”. Thanks for sharing.

  4. They are always the best memories.
